Twinmusix got to speak to Ali Richardson from Bleed From Within about their new album and more.

TM - Hi this is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix, and we are here with Ali Richardson from Bleed From Within, Thank you for having this interview with us today; we appreciate it.

AR - Thank you.

TM - What can fans expect from your new album "Zenith"?

AR -
It is the best album we have done as a body of work. It is the best collection of songs we could have put together. I have always thought there has been one or two fill in tracks on our previous albums, but I feel like this album doesn't have any fill in tracks. I am very excited to release it and excited for people to hear what we have been working on for the past two and a half years. It has been a mad trip and we have done a lot and grown a lot. We have been shouting about it all year and we are very happy to share it with all of you folk.

TM - What's your favourite song off your new album "Zenith"?

AR - Track one "Violent Nature", it is one of the best things we have done.

TM - What was your writing and recording process for "Zenith"?

AR - It was the same as usual. Goonzi delivers Riffs and song ideas via Dropbox. We all listen to the tracks and criticise them from start to finish, and we go in a room and hash it out, and the last man standing usually wins. It is a fun process,s and we have been doing it for a long time. There is a lot of mutual respect, and for this album, there was a lot of honesty about change, and it was about growth and that is everything that Zenith is. We signed a different team for mixing the album and who was doing the artwork. It sounds different, and visually it was going to change up. I think that affected us creatively as well. It pushed us into a new territory, and we are exploring that.

TM - Who designed your album cover, and is there a meaning behind it?

AR - Billelis designed our album cover, and he is based in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has a massive online following, and I think he did some artwork for John Wick. We reached out, and he got back to us and said I am based in Edinburgh, and I have been a massive fan of you for ages so it worked out quite nicely. We just wanted something that signified a change because we used illustrative art for the last few album covers. Billelis delivered, and it was iconic, straight to the point, bold, and it ticked all the boxes.

TM - How did you come up with your video for "A Hope in Hell"?

AR -
The video idea was from our director Pavel. We have done a couple of videos with him now. We actually shot two videos in one day we shot "In Place Of Your Halo" and "A Hope in Hell" and it took around 10 or 11 hours and it was a lot of work. We gave Pavel the meaning of our songs and he came back with a brief. We loved seeing Pavel's interpretation. I wrote the lyrics of the song and showed them to Pavel, and he pitched the brief, and we all fell in love with it straight away.

TM - What can fans expect from your European and UK tour?

AR - This is the tour that we have been working towards. We have been the opening band for a long time and slowly worked our way up the bill. We are ready to headline these rooms now in Europe and in the UK. Overnight success was never written in our path and over the past 20 years as a band we are very grateful to be able to still do it. That is due to our friendship and our fans. It is an awesome full circle moment especially finishing our tour at the "Barrowlands" in Glasgow, it is a world famous venue, and it is the only one that we have ever wanted to headline. We sold out the first show fast so we added a second show, and it is half sold. We are very excited to bring this type of show to New and Old fans.

TM - What can fans expect from your setlist?

AR -
Probably some songs from our new album and some old songs.

TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs, what band would it be, what song would it be, and would it be in your style or their style?

AR - I would like to see"Tower of Power", a funk band from the USA, playing "Violent Nature" because it is one of the fastest things that we have ever done and they are a Funk band. I would like to see it in their style.

TM - What was the first band you saw live, and can you tell us a story?

AR -
The first gig I went to when I was around 12 years old was at a venue in Glasgow called The Cat House, and I saw "Nile" and the opener was "Misery Index". It blew my mind wide open as it was the first thing I had ever been at, and I will never forget it.

TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?

AR - Our Australian fans are the most patient, and we have never been. We hope to announce something or get over there one day soon.

TM - Thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.

AR -
Thank you.
