Circa Survive
Twinmusix chat with Colin from Circa Survive about there Australian tour and more.
What can fans expect from your Australian tour?
Playing music and having fun, unfortunately we don't get to go to Australia as often as we like, we will get to play some about your own material that we have written.
If you could have any band play one of your songs, which band would it be, which song and in your style?
Any band we have toured with.
When recording in the studio, what gear do you use compared to on tour?
I change it up a bit, a lot of the Nuance is lost if you're stressing about a guitar pedal, the audience won't hear it most of the time. In the studio we use an insane amount of stuff.
How did you come up with your video for lustration?
I had nothing to do with it to be honest, that was the director and Anthony collaborated.
How did you come up with your album cover for the amulet?
we use the same artist for every album cover, we like to give him as much freedom as possible.
What's your recoding and writing process?
we try not to get too attached to any type of formula, the last few albums have been very sporadic and on the fly ideas, when we are in the studio we make a foundation and idea, then build on it from there, kick it as far as you can and make it as good as possible.
In 2012 you decided to self release your album violent waves , what made you want to release your own album?
We had spent three albums working with labels, we wanted to experiment with make an album and putting it out ourselves, without interruption from a third party.
In 2013 you played Manila rockfest, what was the experience like playing at that festival?
It was our first time ever playing in the Philippines, that was really awesome, it's always great to travel, play for people that haven't heard you before.
Anything else you want to announce to your fans?
I express gratitude and a very thankful for what our fans do.
