Cradle of Filth Review
Our last enemy, Infected Rain and Cradle Of Filth played at the Metro Theatre last night and they killed it as they revved up a sold out crowd.
Our last enemy are a awesome band from Sydney Australia with Oliver Fogwell on Vocals, Wade Norris on guitars, Matt on Bass and Frank Macri on Drums. Vocalist Oliver Fogwell set the bar high as they kicked off the set with 'Wolves Of Perigord, Bless The Fall and Devour The Sun' and the infectious headbanging began. As Our Last Enemy continued their set with with Hex Design, the slide guitar intro, threw a wicked curveball into the night, and took you into a hard rock and industrial territory. As the last two songs "On the horizon, Never Coming Back and Headless" played the frequent tempo changes, complex riffs, immensely powerful creative drumming, and epic smackdown grooves, showed the band had sheer agility and complexity.
Modern progressive metal band Infected Rain brought four epic members to Australia last night, Lena Scissorhands on Vocals, Vidick on Guitar, Alice Lane on Bass and Eugene Voluta on Drums. They kicked off their set with 'The Realm of Chaos, PANDEMONIUM, VIVARIUM, Fighter and THE ANSWER IS YOU', the brutal guitar riffs, and diverse Rythym arrangements with a progressive metal feel filled the room and set the crowd into overdrive.
Lena Scissorhands powerful vocals behind the mic were incredible as she belted out tunes including 'PAURA', 'LIGHTHOUSE', 'Orphan Soul', 'The Earth Mantra' and 'DYING LIGHT', the up-tempo rhythms, driving guitars and ferocious drumming infected the audience. As Infected Rain struck us with their last song 'ENMITY' and Sweet, Sweet Lies', the band proved their constant quest to show us their unique sound and brought us into another world and they treated their fans to something special.
Cradle Of Filth have six members, Dani Filth on Vocals, Donny Burbage on Guitar, Ashok on Guitar, Daniel Firth on Bass, Martin Skaroupka on Drums and Zoe Marie Federoff with Live Female Vocals and Keyboards and they put on a thrilling performance last night. As The 'Fate of the World on Our Shoulders' played, Cradle of filth showed their gritty, dark, exploration of power and brought us pure energy which they displayed for the rest of the night.
As Cradle Of Filth continued with songs including 'Existential Terror, Saffron’s Curse, She is a Fire and The Principle of Evil Made Flesh', Vocalist Danny Filth elevated the songs to a new level, and Donny Burbage and Ashok's spooky prophecy of doom, summoned with, abundant guitar battery, brought a moribund atmosphere.
As Cradle continued with their legendary songs 'Crawling King Chaos, Nymphetamine (Overdose), Dusk and Her Embrace, Necromantic Fantasies and Born in a Burial Gown', we were treated to signature interwoven drop-tuned riffs and driving mid-tempo rhythm.
