CRASH TEST DUMMIES

The Crash Test Dummies played at the Manning bar last night and they brought a Nostalgic act with their distinct sound, strong stage presence and top quality musicianship and it was a truly unique and touching experience.

Hugh Wilson kicked off the night with an acoustic rock guitar set that was full of foot-stomping anthems and the crowd got moving as Hugh's Vibrant Vocals filled the room. As the strums of Hugh's powerful chords made you want to dance the night away the delicate melodies and harmonious rhythms filled our souls with passion and excited us for The Crash Test Dummies.

The Crash Test Dummies took the stage and received a roaring welcome of excitement and everyone was ready for this set. The band struck the first chord, it was clear they were there to deliver a memorable night, and they kicked off the set with "The Ghosts That Haunt Me, In the Days of the Caveman, Flying Feeling and I Think I'll Disappear Now" and their signature sound, anchored by Brad Roberts' deep baritone voice captivated the crowd and took us back in time and the accordion brought a unique flavour to the party.

The set continued with "How Does a Duck Know?, God Shuffled His Feet, Swimming in Your Ocean and The Psychic" and the crashing vocals, thunderous bass, soaring drums, empowering Guitar and Driving Keyboard brought these catchy, feel-good melodies to life and triggered a wave of nostalgia, particularly for fans of their 90s hits. Then the crowd sang Happy Birthday to Ellen, and then she said it wasn't her birthday and she was joking and just liked the attention.

The connection with the audience, was on full display as The Crash Test Dummies continued with "Androgynous, Two Knights and Maidens, The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead and Superman's Song" and the audience sang along with the band and Brad Roberts and Ellen Reid, brought a charismatic charm that had everyone hooked.

As you watched The Crash Test Dummies play on stage, the enjoyment was written across their face, and that infectious energy translated to the crowd. The band continued with "Sacred Alphabet" and Ellen's Angelic voice shined through and showed the true diversity of her skills. Next up was "Afternoons & Coffeespoons", and the engaging riffs, impressive bass lines, and the iconic and blistering drum beats were next level and made everyone dance in a frenzy as the band jammed along with their rocking bass and cracking guitar lines.

As The Crash Test Dummies finished off their set with "Heart of Stone, He Liked to Feel It and Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" we saw the versatility The Crash Test Dummies could deliver as they brought us a set that moved between their signature folk-rock sound and intense moments and took us through a great journey of their soul hitting beloved anthems that were delivered by skilled musician's with a warm and engaging stage presence.
