Twinmusix got to speak to Leo from Gotthard about their upcoming album and more.

TM - Hi, this is Amelia and Elizabeth from Twinmusix and we are here with Leo from Gotthard, thank you for having this interview with us today we appreciate it.

LO - Thank You for your time.

TM - You just brought out your new album Stereo Crush, how did fans respond?

LO - So far so good, the fans like it and the media likes it. We are excited about what is going on in the next few weeks, and we will see if the world is ready for a rock and roll record. That is what we have to ask ourselves and see if the world is ready for a rock and roll record.

TM - Of course, we are.

LO - We hope everyone likes it.

TM - What was your writing and recording process for your new album "Stereo Crush"?

LO - The recording process isn't very different from what we did in the past in my studio. The band gets together with all the ideas, and we meet with Charlie, the co-producer of the record, and then we decide which songs we will start working on. Then we work on these songs day by day. We have the luxury of working in the studio where the time is not clicking, and that's our luxury. It is pretty much the same way as we did the past albums, we come up with an idea and finish off the idea. We work on this song and the lyrics, then we start recording, and we record till we think it's good enough and till we get what we wanted.

TM - How did you come up with your Album cover for "Stereo Crush"?

LO - It was a long process, when we first designed the album, we had a new technology robot on it that listened to heavy music with two speakers on it. Then you have the loudness of these speakers that crushed the crystal balls, and everyone liked that idea better than the robot idea. It was like the balls were crashed by the music, and there's a little bit of a fairy tale Crush if you look at the cover somehow.

TM - How did you come up with your video for "Thunder and Lightning"?

LO - The way to listen to music and consume music is different to the past, and the video is part of the song, but there's not a big story behind the video, and it is a cool video.

TM - What can fans expect from your European tour?

LO - We are going to start touring in Europe in May, and we have some festivals. We also have "Y&T" supporting us on some of our shows, which is a super rock and roll band, and it is going to be a great package. We are excited to go out on the road.

TM - What can fans expect from your setlist?

LO - Our setlist is going to be a combination of the new records and the old records and some of the best songs and classic songs and some songs from the early days.

TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs, what band would it be, what song would it be and would it be in your style or their style?

LO - I am sad that the band I would like to cover one of our songs does not exist anymore, that would be The Beatles. Unfortunately, there are only two of them so there is not enough to be a band but Paul McCartney's voice is the biggest voice. It would also be nice to have AC/DC play one of our Tunes. For what song, if it was The Beatles, I would pick " Dream On" which is not on this record or AC/DC doing "Rusty Rose" which would be awesome.

TM - Who was the first band you saw live, and can you tell us a story?

LO - I am afraid you won't know the first band I saw as a kid. The main band I saw as a teenager was "Saga" from Canada and the performance was very impressive and interesting.

TM - Did they make you want to play an instrument?

LO - I was already playing, but the band that made me want to pick up an instrument was The Beatles, and I used to play the accordion. My passion was playing guitar.

TM - Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?

LO - Thank You for your support over the last 35 years. Keep the peace, keep the love and keep the passion and don't let the music down because the music is a consuming situation. I know what I love and it is that the rock fans are still on. The bands need to be heard, it is the way it's supposed to be. I would like the AI to go away.
