LIVING COLOUR INTERVIEW
Living Colour is an American rock band from New York City, formed in 1984. Led by guitarist Vernon Reid, Corey Glover on vocals, Will Calhoun on drums and Muzz Skillings on bass.
Living Colours music is a creative fusion influenced by heavy metal, funk, jazz, hip hop, country, and alternative rock. Living Colour are heading to Australia and we got to talk to Will Calhoun about his upcoming tour.
TM- What can fans expect from your Australian tour?
WC- Lots of love and great music, we will play some songs from vivid, some new music and some cover songs.
TM- How do you pick what songs you are going to play on tour?
WC- We pick our fans favourite songs and then we just select a few others we like to play.
TM- I love it when bands sing my favourite songs! It is always great to see bands you love live.
TM- What gear do you use on stage compared to on the studio?
WC- Mapex Drums, Sabian symbols, alian discs, Evens Drumheads, Spdx, Audiofly, Selieshman peddles from Australia.
TM- If you could have any band play one of your songs which band would it be which song and in your style or theirs?
WC- Rolling Stones doing one of our songs in their style
TM- What's your favourite memory of watching a different than perform live?
WC-This band doesn't exist anymore, it was when I watched bush rock in New York it made me want to be a musician and study and practice it was spiritually uplifting and influences as me everyday is a musician.
TM- Who influenced you to play music?
WC- My oldest brother was my biggest influence because he was a Prodigy and playeddrums before I did I didn't want to play the drums at that time but I just enjoyed watching him.
TM- What's your view on Spotify and YouTube how do you think it's affected the music industry?
WC- It has had two types of effect, it has destroyed the industry in terms of an income for the artist but it has presented art for people who normally couldn't be seen before these platforms were around.
TM- Anything else you want to announce to your fans?
