ORANSSI PAZUZU.jpg

Twinmusix got to speak to Jun-His from ORANSSI PAZUZU about their new album and more.

TM - this is Amelia and the Elizabeth from Twinmusix.com, thank you for having this interview with us today, we appreciate it.

JH - Thank You, how are you?

TM - Good, how are you?

JH - I'm Great.

TM - How's your day going, how's corona virus?

JH - It's ok, in the city that I'm in, there's not many cases but still a lot of places are closed, how about there?

TM - no new cases in a couple of days.

JH - That's good.

TM - How is it not playing live at the moment?

JH - We had a live stream on Friday which was good. We played in a club but not on the stage to give the feeling we are playing in a void ,to make it not boring.

TM - What songs did you play?

JH - We played the new album.

TM - That's cool your new album rated 24 on the official ARIA Digital albums chart so Congratulations.

JH - Thank You, it's very suppressing because we have never been down there so it's amazing that happened.

TM - You just released your new album "Mestarin kynsi" how have fans responded?

JH - The response has been nice and I think a lot of new people are listening to our band. We hope our old fans are surprised by our album.

TM - What was your writing and recording process for your new album "Mestarin kynsi"?

JH - We made a new album but our goals are normally pretty abstracts. This time we tried to be 50% of intuitive and 50% rational of how to construct the whole album.

TM - How did you come up with your Album cover for "Mestarin kynsi"?

JH - We have a friend who's a photographer from Helsinki. We let her make take interpretation from our music, I don't know how she did the cover.

TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs what band would it be what song would it be and would it be in your style or their style?

JH - I think it would be cool for someone to do an electro remix and not be too respectful of the original.

TM - If you could collaborate with any band who would it be and why?

JH - Somone that is quite organic or electro that would be cool.

TM - What's your favorite memory of watching someone else peform live?

JH - My favourite memory would be watching "Portishead" peform live. I'm a big fan and I went thinking it's not going to be as good as I hoped it will be. They started playing and I cried because it was so good. I like those bands who don't do many shows but when they do a show it's good.

TM - What's your favorite memory on tour?

JH - Roadburn Festival was really good, we played to 3000 people. The following week we played in a small German town with no PA and no lights and there were 50 people there but thats all the venue could hold. At that point you can only rely on you your music and your band, you can't rely on the lights or the PA you have to go with the motion.

TM - What's your favorite festival you have played?

JH - I enjoy festivals where you can go and explore, I enjoyed Hellfest and it's cool to have new experiences.

TM - Hellfest is the best festival in the world, I cannot wait to go back next year. Is there anything else you want to say to your fans?

JH - I hope we come to Australia soon and play for everyone. I hope you check out our new album and something resonates with you on it.

TM - Thank You for having this interview with us. I am sure we will see you somewhere on the raod. Maybe America, Australia or Europe.
