POP EVIL INTERVIEW
Pop Evil is a rock band from the United States was formed in 2001 by vocalist Leigh Kakaty. Pop evil has five members including Davey Grahs on Guitar, Nick Fuelling on Guitar, Matt DiRito on bass and Hayley Cramer on drums.
Pop Evil was named number 4 on the Mainstream Rock Artist chart of 2014 and have had three consecutive #1 Rock Radio Singles from the ‘War Of Angels’ album and a bucket load of other Billboard charted achievements.
Pop Evil has had hits including ‘’Last Man Standing’’, ‘’Trenches’’, ‘’Torn To Pieces’’, ‘’Footsteps’’, ‘’Ways To Get High’’, ‘’Take It All’’, ‘’Deal With The Devil’’ and new slammers like ‘’Waking Lions’’, ‘’Be Legendary’’ & ‘’Colors Bleed’’ POP EVIL is set to add Australian to their list of conquered territories.
We got to speak to Leigh Kakaty about his upcoming tour and more.
TM - Hi, This is Amelia from Twinmusix, Thank You for having this interview with me. How is your day?
PE - Good Thank You, How is yours?
TM - Good, We are excited to have you coming to Australia, I love your song bosses daughter.
PE - Aww, Thank You that is awesome.
TM - That was the first song I heard of yours and then I was like pop evil a really cool, I hope they come to Australia sometime and now you are coming.
PE - It has been a long time.
TM - What can fans expect from your Australian tour?
PE - A lot of energy, we have wanted to come to Australia for a long time now, we have had a month off so we are going to be ready, hopefully, we don't have too much jet lag we are ready to go and looking forward to our tour.
TM - How did you pick your setlist for the tour?
PE - We haven't picked the list yet but we have a long plane ride so we will probably pick it on the plane. We have just been playing through the US and Europe which was really nice.
TM - How was it touring through the US and Europe?
PE - It was awesome and a great time.
TM - Is there anything you really want to do in Australia?
PE - We would love to do a lot on this tour but we don't have the time or the budget to do it. We would love to do as much as possible though.
TM - Have you ever tried Tim Tams they are these chocolate biscuits, they are Amazing.
PE - No, but I would love to try them I can't wait to try things that you can't get in the US.
TM - I was speaking to one of my mates in the US the other day, apparently they are really expensive over there, you better stock up while you are here. (laughs)
PE - I will definitely try them.
TM - How have fans responded to your new self titled album?
PE - I think every album we get a little bit further because the band gets more familiar with people. It feels good we sing one word the crowd sings the rest of the show.
TM - You have a female drummer Hayley, she has been playing with you for a year and she helped out with this album, how did that go?
PE - It has helped our new songs and old songs get stronger on another level she is an Amazing drummer.
TM - What was it like working with Kato on this last album?
PE - It was Awesome kato is like a big brother and uncle his passion and open-mindedness was something that we have never experienced in our lives. At the time we didn't know it would be his last record with us. Unfortunately, he was in the motorcycle accident it was tragic hopefully we made him proud.
TM - I know you would have made him proud, I'm sorry for your loss.
TM - You played download UK and Rock and Ring what was your favorite memory?
PE - Ever since I was a kid I wanted to play Rock And Ring. I watched Limp Bizkit live from Rock and Ring and I had a dream of playing those festivals, now it's a dream come true. I have never seen so many people, I would love to play Hellfest too.
TM - That is so cool that you can say you have accomplished your Dream, congratulations. You definitely have to play Hellfest, it is a fantastic festival, I love going there!.
TM - If you could have any bands play one of your songs which band would it be which song would it be and would it be in your style or their Style?
PE - Pearl Jam singing one of our songs in their style.
TM - Is there anything else you would like to say to your fans?
PE - We are excited to come to Australia and see all our fans new and old.
