THE DOORS ALIVE
As we were sad we could not see the one and only Jim Morrison, we got the next best thing, The Doors Alive. They are the number one The Doors tribute band From the UK and they played at the Enmore Theatre. All of the members did a great job of impersonating The Doors. Their outfits were on point and they covered the The Doors classic hits that we know and love.
The Doors Alive hit the stage and opened with classics "Soul Kitchen, Back Door Man and Queen of the Highway" and it made you feel like you had travelled back through time and we got to experience one of The Doors live shows. As Mike sang his smooth vocals drifted across the room and he captured the audience with his rich baritone voice.
The Doors Alive continued with their songs "Love Street and Strange Days", the awesome guitar riffs and snazzy rhythms got the crowd excited for more and the soaring ambient keyboards created a masterful and fiery atmosphere. The Doors Alive were bringing us a buzzing performance.
As the crowd was singing along to songs they grew up with, the groovy bass lines took us down to Funky Town and put us in a jam. The Doors Alive continued with "People Are Strange and Spanish Caravan" and the Funky Drum beats, took us on an epic trip to the sunset strip.
As Mike Introduced the band, in the middle of the song "Light My Fire" the crowd cheered. The Doors Alive consists of, Norman on Keyboards, Roland on Drums, Berrington on guitar and Mike as Jim Morrison and they lit our fire as they walked off stage for an interval.
The Doors Alive walked back on stage and they opened their second set with "Peace Frog and Blues Sunday", it got everyone back into a rhythm and into the swing of the Psychedelic music that filled our veins with love and gave us a groovy pulse.
We kept on truckin’ with "Hyacinth House and Riders on the Storm" as the guitar solos soared through the room and the melody-driven hooks and glorious harmonies created a contagious atmosphere that made the crowd dance.
Mike then asked the fans if they wanted to hear "Roadhouse Blues or L.A. Woman" and got the fans to vote by which song had the loudest cheer. Then he said or would you prefer to hear both, and the crowd cheered the loudest, so The Doors Alive played "Roadhouse Blues". They walked off stage and the crowd cheered for more songs. As the legacy band continued to play the instrumental breakdowns were paramount, and the music notes were hitting our souls, the tribute band was doing a phenomenal job as they played "LA Woman".
The Doors Alive played their last song "The End" and it is a marvellous track that takes us on an almost twelve minute trip and it brought us all the memorable hooks. This set will stay with the audience long after they leave the venue. Make sure you check them out, be there or be square. The set will Blow your mind and give you an insight into one of the greatest bands of all time.
