UB40 AND EAGLE-EYE CHERRY REVIEW
Last night we went to The Hordern Pavilion to see UB40 and Eagle-Eye Cherry and we got to sip on Red Red Wine and Save Tonight in our memories before we had to fight the break of dawn, come tomorrow.
UB40 consists of four of five of the surviving founding members, Robin Campbell, Norman Hassan, Earl Falconer and Jimmy Brown and they have been recording and performing together for 45 years, the brass players have also played for the band for the past 30 years.
Swedish artist Eagle-Eye Cherry played at The Hordern pavilion last night and to say they put on an epic show is an understatement. As the melodic, folky, alternative rock artist Eagle-Eye Cherry and his band kicked off their set with "This Paralysis, I Like It, Death Defied By Will and Golden", the songs brought a bright beam to the stage and put a smile on everyone's faces.
Eagle-Eye Cherry continued with modern pop and flavourful tracks including, "Falling in Love Again, Streets of You, Long Way Around, One of Those Days and Still Having Fun", the upbeat feel good rock tracks filled our souls with excitement and the catchiness of the heartfelt guitar riffs and drum beats kept us dancing to the beat of the music.
As Eagle-Eye Cherry played his most iconic track and last song "Save Tonight", the audience was singing along. We were sad to see them leave, but it was an iconic representation of the late nineties and early noughties and we were psyched that we got to see them live.

UB40 got ready to play their first hits of the night, "Keep On Moving, Mabey Tomorrow and Homely Girl" and the synth bass was rocking and the Funky beats and expressive vocals were popping.
As the crowd marvelled in anticipation for the next tracks, UB40 belted out "Sing Our Own Song and 1 In 10" and the high energy, fun filled atmosphere, made sure that the party didn't stop. Robin introduced some of their band on stage and continued to play some new songs from the new album "UB45", as the fans listened to the song "Home", they enjoyed this new hit. The hard hitting drums and smooth saxophone made us buzz on a high, as UB40 played "Please Don't Make Me Cry, Bring Me Your Cup, You Don't Call, Me Nah Leave Yet and Fool Me Once"
As UB40 continued with their Never ending catalogue of hits including "The Keeper, Many Rivers To Cross, Cherry Oh Baby, Gimme Some Kind Of Sign and Wear You To The Ball", the Catchy Choruses and Unforgettable guitar riffs along with thrilling solos, iconic melodies and keys brought raw energy. UB40 Sang 'Neil Diamonds' hit Red Red Wine' the wine was flowing and the crowd was dancing and singing along.
The band walked off stage and everyone started chanting for one more song. Gilly G walked back on stage and said "Sydney you are loud, but I have heard Louder". Then he asked the audience to turn on the lights, that are on their phones, as a tribute to all the band members they had lost so far. The room lit up like the night sky in this touching moment. Then Gilly G interacted with the crowd and he got the fans to sing back UB40 to him.

We then got to hear 4 more amazing songs "Food for Thought, Forever True and Kingston Town". UB40 finished the night with an amazing cover of "Can't Help Falling in Love" originally by "Elvis Presley" and the mood was contagious.
As the band walked off stage, No one wanted to leave the venue and we wished we could re-live the whole show again. The journey of the songs throughout tonight was nothing short of electrifying and we cannot wait for UB40 and Eagle-Eye Cherry to hit Sydney again.
