VOIVOD INTERVIEW
Voivod is a heavy metal band that was Founded on 11 January 1983 in Jonquière & Montréal - Quebec, Canada. There have been a lot of changes to the line up over the years and a lot of debate to the type of metal that voivod are. Voivod have released twenty six albums over their career and they have recently released their new alum 'The Wake'. This year Voivod celebrate their 35th anniversary of being a band. The current line up for the band is Snake on Vocals, Chewy on Guitar, Away on Drums and Rocky on Bass.
We got to speak to Michel Langevin about his upcoming Austalian tour, his new CD and more.
TM - What can fans expect from your Australian tour?
ML - We haven't been there over 20 years so it's going to be fun to meet the fans. It is going to be fun for us and is the 35th Anniversary of the band and we have a new album out.
TM - Congratulations on your 35th Anniversary!
TM - What are you looking forward to in Australia?
ML - We don't have much time to visit stuff when we are on tour so I'll just go to stuff around were we are playing. I am normally the first up in the morning and try to visit as much as possible.
TM - I understand, I just normally explore the local area, unless I have a lot of time.
TM - Have you tried Tim Tams? you have to try Tim Tams.
ML - What is it?
TM - They are chocolate biscuits, they come in different flavours so you'll have to try them all.
ML - Thanks for the advice I will try them.
TM - You recently released your new album how have fans responded?
ML - The response is going really well. Our fans loved it and so did all the magazines even Rolling Stone.
TM - Sweet, well done. It's awesome how Rolling Stones magazine gave it a good wrap.
TM - If you could play any music festival what would it be?
ML - Definitely Hellfest its one of my favorite festivals.
TM - Me too, I love Hellfest. It is so well organized, I am going back for my third year in a row, I can't wait. Hopefully we will see you there.
TM - You played with Motorhead what's your favourite experience from playing with them?
ML - The Vibe, the Soundcheck and the vibe we got from touring with them.
TM - If you could have any band play one of your songs which band would it be which song and in your style or theirs?
ML - Any Artist to do any of our songs.
TM - If you could collaborate with any artist who would it be and why?
ML - Mike Patton
TM - Anything else you want to announce to your fans?
ML - We are very excited to come to Australia and see all the Voivod fans and our new fans.
